"My dream has always been to write stories about perfectly imperfect characters whom readers could identify with, want to share a cup of coffee with, and hopefully, never forget."
AVA MALLORY has been a grade school teacher, a psychiatric technician, a dementia unit nurse manager, and a hospice nurse. She has embarrassed herself in front of handsome celebrities, won vocal contests much to the chagrin of her children, survived a major earthquake, and nearly drowned when she mistakenly thought a YMCA lifeguard asked her to dive into the deep end on her first day of swim lessons. She and her eternally annoyed children share their home with a massive collection of books and a never-ending supply of new book ideas.
AVA is best known for what she calls her Mysteries with Heart. She loves a great madcap adventure with lovable, yet ornery and sometimes precocious characters, who play hard, laugh often, never mind their own business, bicker, squabble, and tease relentlessly, but never forget that deep down they fiercely love each other, even if they can't bring themselves to admit it.
“One can never be lonely when they open the pages of a good book.”
Home is where the heart lies. Nan O'Berry grew up listening to stories at her grandparents' feet. So it's not surprising that her love of a good story pushed her to begin writing her own tales for enjoyment. As these grew she shared her historical and contemporary perspectives about the heroes of her imagination, cowboys, lumberjacks, and the country they founded to friends who urged her to give it a go.
Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Degree from Old Dominion University, Mrs. O’Berry loves finding those interesting facts that might lead to a good story material. So pull up a chair and grab that glass of sweet tea and enjoy.
"Everyone loves a happy ending and, as the writer, I am no different."
Penny Harmon has been writing all her life, but it was only over the last few years that she decided to share it with the world. Her stories portray people you want to get to know and her characters come to life with fun dialogue and some serious plots. While most of her books are set in her home state of Maine, don’t be surprised to find she can write about places she always wanted to visit. Her goal is to entertain her readers and Penny wants her books to leave her readers with a feeling of satisfaction…she wants them to take something away from her books, whether it is a life lesson or a feeling of peace.
Penny lives in Maine with her long-time partner, Dan, three beautiful grandchildren, and three crazy cats. She can often be found in the garage sanding down an old piece of furniture or sewing something new for one of her grandchildren.

"In the end, the only reason writers persevere against the odds and the rejection and the critique and the blocks is that we believe our stories are worth telling."
Maddie Evans is a slightly cynical romantic who believes in the combination of love and hard work. When she's not writing stories, you can find her exploring dirt trails on her bike or jogging around town.

“I hope my stories reveal the hero within each reader and encourage them to face their villains.”
Sharon Hughson inhales words and exhales stories. Her characters face real--difficult, and sometimes heart-wrenching—issues. Just because it’s fiction, doesn’t mean readers can’t see themselves on the pages…and find the strength to be the hero of their own story.
Sharon could easily get lost in books. When her parents divorced, escaping into Narnia saved her from a fate worse than rebelling against everything. She pens her stories for that troubled teenager, seeking hope and encouragement, because sometimes vacation only happens between the pages of a book. When not immersed in the world of writing and reading, Sharon substitutes in local classrooms, keeps house for her honey and waits on her three cats.
"I read to escape. I write to journey."
A USA TODAY bestselling author, Victoria lives on the island of Newfoundland, and is fiercely proud of her home. She can imagine no better setting for her Heart’s Ease series of sweet yet steamy contemporary romances, and hopes that her readers will one day come to witness Newfoundland and Labrador's rustic beauty for themselves.
Victoria also writes sweet romances, and sometimes lets her imagination run wicked with shifter romances. Regardless of the story, Victoria loves to write about love, and often focuses her stories around strong women learning how to make room in their lives for an equally strong man without losing their sense of self.
"Life is too short to be unhappy. Even in tragedy and sorrow there is joy. Grieve but move on as you celebrate each moment."
In 1981 I quit my job and announced to the world I was going to write a romance novel. I then spent the summer at the beach and the next year on the road visiting friends and relatives in some forty states and multiple Canadian provinces and Mexican estados. I chalk this—and the many intervening years before I finally actually published a book—all up to research.
In the meantime I’ve honed my editorial skills, gotten a history degree and learned a fair amount about antiques, running a business, and restoration of orphan buildings, the last several in conjunction with my wonderful spouse. And for us the adventure continues—with the occasional break for me to type madly into the computer whatever harebrained idea I may have come up with for a novel. (Fortunately, in most cases better judgment prevails and I don’t inflict it onto the world.)
"Love what you do. Be proud of your work. Care about your readers. Listen, learn, and focus on being the best author you can be. That's all it takes!"
