Where did you grow up, and where do you live now? Tell us something a lot of people don’t know about your home town.
I was born and raised between cotton and peanut fields in South Georgia, but now I call Florida home. Most people think of Disney World and beaches when I say Florida, but the area I live in has a rich cattle and cigar factory history.

What is your favorite part about writing Sweet Romance/ Cozy Mysteries?
I am drawn to mysteries and romance. Everything I read, write, or watch has a little mystery and a little romance in it.

Who or what inspired you to become an author?
I really can’t remember how it all started. My dream job had always been to be a police officer and I spent five years in the Army as Military Police. I found that I didn’t like shift work or the oftentimes fickle justice system. Putting my love for good guys defeating bad guys onto paper is a much better way of realizing my dream that good should always prevails.

If you weren’t an author, what would you be doing?
Getting more sleep, probably.

Do you have any pets? Please tell us about them!
My geriatric 19 yr old tabby Cid is the heart of our family. He came to us from the foothills of the Colorado mountains, but he’s a true Florida cat and loves to sit in the sun all day. He’s a fantastic editor too.

Have you found your own real life happily ever after?
I’ve been married for 20 yrs and we make the HEA work with lots of communication, love, and realizing that we are both individuals with individual likes and dislikes.

What is one book that impacted or changed your life that you think everybody should read? Tell us about it.
Oh my! How to answer that question with just one book? My senior year of high school I read Scarlett, the official sequel to Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With the Wind. Scarlett left everything familiar to her to start over in Ireland and the theme of starting over even when it seems you’ve messed up everything in a big way stays strong with me. Second chances are possible.
