Where did you grow up, and where do you live now? Tell us something a lot of people don’t know about your home town.
I grew up in north Georgia, smallish town, and couldn’t wait to get out. Moved to Atlanta when I was 17 to go to college. My home town once known as the carpet capital of the world, was complicit in smuggling illegals into the state to work in the mills.

What is your favorite part about writing Sweet Romance/ Cozy Mysteries?
I love to write these kinds of stories. They are fun to write because the options for characters and places are so broad. Everyone needs a break from reality of bad news, and these stories can be uplifting as well as entertaining.

Who or what inspired you to become an author?
When I was in 2nd grade my teacher let me put on a “play” I had written. I had been inspired by a Blondie and Dagwood comic strip. I was hooked once she praised me by saying, “not everyone at seven years old has such a talent and imagination, you know.” That was like hearing the angels sing, I guess. I was hooked.

If you weren’t an author, what would you be doing?
I would be an anthropologist. People, cultures, belief systems fascinate me.

Do you have any pets? Please tell us about them!
Not at the moment but plan to have shortly. Have had in the past.

Have you found your own real life happily ever after?
My idea of this changes as I get older. I have learned to appreciate what makes me happy every day, rather than always searching for something.

What is one book that impacted or changed your life that you think everybody should read? Tell us about it.
I think Little Women was the most impactful book of my young years. I saw how powerful love is and how strong women are! Later, I feel in love with Rebecca, the gothic-like classic story of an unlikely woman getting chosen by a man she thought was out of her reach. It was enlightening to see how a shy, self-effacing woman evolved into a strong and self-assured one.
